Capella has been working with Choir of the Earth (formerly ‘The Self-Isolation Choir’) since its launch in March 2020. More than a year on, this online choir continues to bring not just a plethora of glorious choral works to its members but also a community to those potentially feeling disconnected to the world around them, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dubbed the “busiest choir in the world”, Choir of the Earth has thousands of members from over 35 countries. Over 25,000 courses have been purchased since its establishment, with over 1m hours of content watched on YouTube.

The Choir’s Founder and Musical Director have both been awarded the British Empire Medal for their services to musicians and amateur singers throughout the pandemic.

“Capella has been indispensable right from the launch of Choir of the Earth and we would 100% not be here without them. They always do more than what they’re asked to do. Capella is part of us and we could not operate as efficiently as we do if they were no longer around.

There are 4 main people in the HQ team here at Choir of the Earth and two have recently been honoured by The Queen in New Year’s Honours Lists for services to music. I’m sure it must be Capella’s turn next?”

-Mark Strachan, Founder, Choir of the Earth
